After the sad loss of our beloved Roussanne block (due to phylloxera), we needed something a little left field to fill the void. We ventured out of the Yarra and found a block of Pinot Blanc in Main Ridge on the Mornington Peninsula. The handpicked fruit was whole bunch pressed, and the high turbidity juice was fermented in a stainless-steel tank, followed by aging on light lees. A very European feel to the wine…
Drink now to enjoy vibrant varietal flavours or allow depth and complexity to grow over the next five to ten years or so.
On the nose, hints of Nectarine, savoury lemon curd, frangipani, and citrus blossoms, with wet slate.

"Tense and wound up! The wine is bone dry and citrus dominant – lime juice, with a mineral purity. Needs time to settle down and will age well."
