Devil's Lair
MERGING INFLUENCES OF A WESTERN AUSTRALIAN MARITIME CLIMATE, GEOGRAPHY AND GEOLOGY, DEVIL’S LAIR CREATES WINES OF GREAT CLARITY, DELICACY AND ELEGANCE. THE DEVIL’S LAIR PHILOSOPHY IS TO CRAFT WINES THAT DEFINE THE REGION, RESPECT THE VARIETY AND, ABOVE ALL, ARE SYMBOLS OF QUALITY AND COMPLEXITY.
Deep in the south of Margaret River - beyond where most venture - stand towering native karri trees that protect a hidden cave named Devil’s Lair. One of Australia’s most significant archaeological sites, the Devil’s Lair cave holds evidence of some of the earliest records of human life, dating back nearly 50,000 years.
The Devil’s Lair winemaking philosophy is to be meticulous, to continually question and challenge and to refine a winemaking style that offers great clarity, delicate fruit flavour and elegant structure.
“With a unique combination of maritime climate, geography and geology, Devil’s Lair winery celebrates wines of great clarity, delicacy of fruit and elegant structure. The philosophy of Devils Lair is to make wines that define the region, respect the variety and above all make complex interesting wines”.

Meet Simon
Simon Bromilow originally studied horticulture before taking on a vintage role in 1999, which sparked his passion for winemaking. Since then, he has travelled extensively, working vintages in Australia, New Zealand, the United States, France, and Canada.
Simon’s first vintage at Devil’s Lair was in 2011, where he worked until 2014. After spending time crafting Pinot Noir in Oregon’s Willamette Valley, he returned to Devil’s Lair, where he has been ever since.
